Model Jail Diversion and Reentry Service Programs: Review of the Literature

The purpose of this paper is: 1) to summarize the recent literature related to model jail diversion and reentry services and programs, and 2) to offer guidance to state and local jurisdictions on the development of a full continuum of effective and evidence based jail diversion services to reduce the number of persons with mental health and/or substance use conditions in the criminal justice system.
