MAMH testimony submitted October 7, 2019 opposes H. 1571, which would change the definition of Serious Mental illness to allow restrictive housing for individuals who have anxiety disorders, trauma, and stress-related disorders. MAMH also opposes the bill's proposed deletion of a critical provision of current law that calls for removal from restrictive housing based on a clinical determination of deterioration or risk of deterioration.
